So Childish

My colleague had just confided in me. I understand that she was being questioned on some of her blog entries by our boss's girlfriend, who is also our Accounts Manager. I personally feel that a blog is a personal output of thoughts where author can expresses freely, and honestly by not slandering or misleading or changing facts.

Blog entries are put up for viewing and discussions. In my opinion, for one to walk up to a co-worker to question her personal feelings stated in her blog, it is childish and unprofessional.

Have you met simliar scenarios? What do you think?

That is why never announce your Blog publicly in office. You will never know who will be using it against you in future. If you wanna post freely... never announce you have a blog. Then you can publish anything under the sun.

Let those people you post about find your Blog on their own. Let then read their own mistakes and horrors without them knowing that you are the writer.

Oh, for my colleague, she did not announced or shared her blog addy in the office. As for how the boss's girlfriend - my accounts manager find out about her blog, I am not too sure but I heard she chanced upon it.

For me,I feel that there is no harm letting anyone know about your blog, even if they find out that you are the writer. Most importantly, if you are truly stating facts and expressing own views, there is nothing to hide. It will then be up to the readers to digest or post comments, if they are willing to express openly too.

In that case... just take it as your friend is suay... so suay that someone with the brain smaller than Homer Simpson visited her site.

But of cos if anyone takes the write to task... then it just show she is a lousy supervisor nia.

Ai ya.. Boss's girlfriend nothing new wat.. In my company, my Boss is married, her gf is the secretary.. This is so outbridge. Married man, got children liao stil do this kind of thing..

Had a friend who broke up with his girlfriend after she found out what he wrote about her in his blog. And before that she didn't know he had a blog. She found out accidentally when she Google her own name!

When one makes public what is inside the heart, be prepared for any consequences, even how remote it may seem then.

I once hosted a forum, a forumer posted derogatory remarks about a school (thou honestly I tot it was a fair remarks)and the school found about it, now the school want to sue the forumer and ME (the forum admin) for defamation. In fact I am still waiting for the Writ of Summons from Court.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people who can read....

In my personal opinion,
blogging has become such a habit amongst the internet savvy community, that sometimes we just forgot to take extra care in our posting.

I agree that blogging is a place for us to state our views and opinions for as long as
we exercise some good blogging practices, such as not revealing sensitive info. about oneself n others that were mentioned in our blogs.

But I feel that if a superior uses the info he/she reads and in turns use it to question the subordinates views and ideas, is simply unprofessional and in a way unethical.

Imagine somebody who enjoys peeping into your see-through dress and question you bout your bust-size and ask if u have a boob-job??
Yes, this analogy might sounds extreme to some, but one similarity that we all could find between the two? FETISHISM.

Well, by posting these comments, I also welcome anybody to visit my blog.
But please, don’t question me about boob-job ok?

In my personal point of view,
if the person who gave comment to your blog is your friend or someone you like,you will feel that he/she is discussing with you.
In other words if you don't like that person,any comment he/she made about your blog is questioning.It depends on how you look at it :)

I do not know what is happening in the company you work in,but no matter what happens try to take things positively.

Even though you can express your feelings freely in your own blog,but must be responsible in what ever you write.Any irresponsible action might get yourself into endless trouble. :)

hmmm...following are my pts. of view:

1) blogs are really personal and the editor merely draft out his/her personal feel about some incidence/events that he/she experienced and definitely would not want any other pple to make a big hoohaa out of it...

2) if your colleage confide in you, that means she TRUST you to be somebody that can keep the secret or at least somebody who has the brains (even the minimum) not to keep rubbing in on the matter especially when there's a superior snooping behind your ass! OMG!!!

3) there is always 2 sides to a coin. yes the editor have the right to write his/her feelings. but imagine if you are the boss of this company and you see some negative comments some one make about your company. how will you feel? i guess you will most prob feel bad too (i think most bosses will)...but whether to take the comments into task by questioning blog editor is dependent on whether the boss has any social grace...
